We had a blast, and I saw a bunch of the neighboring kids got to enjoy it the next day. Last year we had over 20" in one storm & I used the 580 to build a nice sled hill, so this one wasn't quite as big.

Looks like EVERYONE is having a blast. I can relate to the time factor. Its times like that, that the kids mention for a long time after.

What fun and yes.....priceless!

I thought your thread was gonna be about snow mobiles or that type of sledding. Not the kind that we all can relate to, even if down south! :D

Nice photos!

I had a guy that wanted me to push snow from the street INTO his drive way. Turns out he was building a snowboard jump. By the looks of your pics hes not the only one thinking of using a plow to make a fun sled hill:grinz

A portion of my property rises about 50' over 300' along the driveway. A few years ago I made up a run along there and was tubing via snowtube with my daughter.

She went down a couple times and bailed out before reaching the bottom and then begged me to try it. I finally gave in and got on the tube.

It seemed like no time before I was going about 60mph, and then the tube spun around and I was going backwards without a clue where I was headed. Next thing I knew I was slamming through a multi-floral rose bush, the tube popped, and I finally came to rest on the side of the stream bank with my head about a foot from the water!

Due to the steep angle of the bank plus being tangled up in the rose bush, I couldn't overcome gravity to get myself free. My daughter went into a panic, I yelled I was OK but get Mommy. My wife had to pull me back out feet first before I could get up!

One of those times you wish you had the video camera rolling!:nodd

Yeah Pelly, that woulda been a great video for America's Funniest Video... Might have even won you $100,000.00

Wouldn't that have been nice.

I've had my own fair share of sledding mishaps, one I was very lucky with, whole side of my face was tree rash, coulda broken my neck, but that was when I was a kid.

Don't do that now that i am older ;)

Jeff, isn't funny how you could sled all day as a kid and go back for more?

Now it takes 3 days before I can get up out of the chair after a few hours worth!:beatsme

Grasshopper,
Last year we had a 2 foot snow fall on a Sunday & I had a Case 580 rental. We put all of the snow from a 1.5 acre section of one of the lots in 1 corner & built a sort of snowboarding quarter pipe. That section of the lot had a slight hill behind it so it seemed like it would be easier to create. At that same location there is another U shaped parking lot with drain basin in between. A steep drop in from both sides. So I also strategically piled snow in one spot on each side of there. That made for a fantastic jump. Only problem was I finally got to take a 2 hour break on Wed or Thurs to try it, but it was 10:00 PM & I wasn't able to get any of my friends to join me, so I only got a few jumps in. By the time I was done living in the back hoe Friday afternoon, I was way to sore & exhausted to play. And on that Saturday afternoon\night we got a 2" rain that pretty much made lakes in the bottoms of the jumps  :fuming :wah

I had thought of this idea a few years ago, but had never had enough snow with loader to do it since then until that storm last year. I'll probably try again for the next big one for sure. Even though I only got to use it for a few jumps, it was worth every effort.

Pelican,
That was a funny story!!

The snow flying up from the impact is perfect! Good picture taking!! We might have to show that dog to the giant's defensive coaching staff for recruiting next year :p Great tackling technique.
