We have a couple of bumper hitch utility type trailers that have 2" round sealed, rubber mounted marker lights that are mounted at 45 degree angles on the bottom front corners and fenders of the trailers. We can not keep these lights on the trailer because they get alot of gravel road miles and are constantly knocked out by rocks. I have looked everywhere for some sort of wire mesh screens to cover the lights. The screens need to bee about 3" across inside, and have to be buldged out about a 1/2" to clear the lights. They would need to bolt on so that they would be removable to replace the lights. I have a picture in my head of what I am looking for but I can't seem to find anyone that makes the item. Thanks in advance for any help.

I've got the same problem on one of my trailers. My cure was to get a piece of Lexan and cut circles out of it, then glue them to the light lens. Not real pretty but it works and with LED lights you sure don't have to make up the shields very often. I think I stuck them on with three dabs of a product called GOOP and they have been on for several years now.

2" lights, weld a piece of 3" pipe maybe an inch to 1½ deep around them.

2½" lights weld a piece of 4" pipe maybe an inch to 1½ deep around them

Thanks Guys for your input.
I decided to go with Alan's idea. I did 2 trailers today with 1/8" Lexan. It was easy to do and looked pretty good, from about 10 feet back you couldn't even tell it was on there.
Thanks again for your help I had been racking my brain on this for a week.
