got a set of 2001 takeoff tires and wheels fo the jeepthing today, just happened to stumble on them, guy bought them thinking that they would bolt up to his half ton ford and (of course) they wouldnt, he offered to sell them for $20 a corner ($80 for the set)
BRAND NEW Goodyear wrangler aquatread SUV tires.

while I had the tires off I got thinking about timbrens and decided to take a 1½" thick chunk of neoprene rubber and cut a set of "wanna be timbrens"

now it only dropps an inch and it still has a good ride

$80 for the tires/wheels
$31.25 for 20 solid steel lugnuts
$2.00 chunk of neoprene
total
$113.25 less then what I would pay for 1 tire at a tireshop

just wanted to share

That's an awesome deal Nate! I bet those tires do fairly well in the snow, it looks like they have quite a bit of siping!

Nice 'timbren wannbe's' too, I think that's a great solution!

LGF- Are those 225/75? I bet a set of 31x10.50 muds would really set that thing off, it would probably have better all around traction too... Nice jeep, 4.0l, 5sp?
