View Full Version : Fisher MM1 does nothing
Hoping for some help from the pros.
My 4 hear old MM1 worked fine last year, this season it won't move up or angle. I can hear the motor and pump running, and the solenoids seem have the correct power when called for, it just doesn't do anything.

Most probably a bad electrical connection. The first place to start is to go to the plow and unplug and plug in the connectors a few times just doing that will often clean them enough to get good contact.

Do you have fluid in it ? Could it be frozen ?

Sounds like frozen fluid. You can hear the motor running but nothing is moving.
To get it working if you don't have a heated garage: Grab your wifes hairdrier and wedge it in between the hoses and let it runs for 15 mins +/- that should get it freed up............Don;t ask how I found this works:D

That's what they used at the garage I use. Only it was a little bigger than your standard hair dryer. Only took a couple minutes.

One year I changed it 2 times through out the season and it was the breather that had been broken off and letting moisture in. It was always freezing up.
I now have my OWN hair/pump warmer:rolling The also make cheap heat guns good for removing decals.

It's not frozen, i first went to move it in October and discovered the problem. How would i check to see if the pump is shot (pressure check somewhere) or maybe the pickup clogged? It almost sounds like the pump isn't getting fluid.

Pull the motor off,and check the strainer. It's straight down, snapped onto the front of the pump.Maybe it's plugged. You will also get a better idea of the fluid conditon as you can see inside the reservoir.
I'd also double check all your connections,as it doesn't take much to make these things act up.If you have the correct power at all the coils, then make sure the black\org ground wire is good at all the coils, and grounded well at the motor.
