My isuzu npr has a pto on the tranny, can I run this while driving to spread salt? Say hooking up a pump to the pto to run a salt spreader?

Yes,just make sure you disengage the pump when not needed.Most PTO pumps are not meant for constant operation.

i think though if you stop the truck whatever the pto is operating will stop also ...might be doabe with a little practice

with salt spreading it will be harder to meter the usage because it will be more dependent on the rpm of the truck

Mine kicks off as soon as the trans is put into drive or reverse. Soon as ya shift to neutral or park PTO kicks back in..
This is used for the dump box only at this point.
