Just got my lightbar from E-bay. FS Jetsonic. Looking at the wiring, am I right to assume that I hook up 12v and ground to the bar and I am sending a 12v signal to each wire? I tried very quickly to do this with a power-pack, but it isn't fully charged, so not sure if that is why it didn't work.

Turn your truck on and use the battery under the hood. I dont think your getting enough power to activate the lights. Im sure it works you just got to get full power. Hope this helps:salute

I tried using the power pack to light a fog light. Didn't work. I got my old rotating beacon and plugged it into the 12v port. Worked. Then tried it using the clamps. Didn't work. I think there is some sort of sensing unit inside the power pack. Must be looking for a voltage back for the right polarity. Rain here for a few days, so I'll have to try it later.

Try going to their website the first link is for full size bars and the second is for mini bars. Hope this helps.

Ray,
I've been there. The JetSonic is old though, so they don't have much info. I did download all the files they have, but they aren't the clearest things. I think I have it now though.

Have some Jetsonics on Fire Dept rigs, the older models are just hot/ground.

Always ground the lightbar down to the truck( battery or frame), not the lightbar itself. sometimes the bars don't make very good contact with the top of the trucks.

Newer Jet sonics had several different wires, still had a +/- then acc.wire for whatever package it was, some had alley lights, takedowns (work lights), others had multiple rotators or even flashers, usually a wire for each set.

Usually the main +/- are larger sized wires, and the access. are smaller.

Hey Three W,
My bar has the heavier guage wire red and black. The other are lighter guage. So I assummed that the power was delivered to the bar from the red wire and the others just triggered a relay. The diagram I have shows that the red wire controls the rotators. That is where I was getting confused. Sun should be out tomorrow, so I will pop the hood and test everything out. I'll know then what I am working with.

Thanks

OK, bar works. They have the outer rotators and inner rotators on different wires. Why would I run only one set? Also, I have rear flashers, but no front flashers. Should I throw on fronts? Was thinking some driveways at night they would throw less light into the house.

Thanks for any info....
