I have broken 4 of these so-far and i am tired of replacing them 1,broke because of a chunk of driveway one broke because of ice one broke in the trailer and the last one broke itself because no won knows how it happened!!!! go figure!!! the chute has 3 nuts and bolts on the bottom for mounting I'm sure someone has a older murray machine that has a metal chute that can send me their model # and i will do the research thanks for your help in advance :blizzard

Not sure how old yours is, but if it is new, then it is a MTD. I have a plastic chute on mine, just waiting for it to break.....

It was purchased last year I believe it is an 03 or an 04 model. The first 3 number in the model is 536,tells who manufactored it. i think it is Murray but I am not sure and do not know how to check it.:blizzard

Well, mine is an 04, and it came in a box/crate with the address label on it from MTD to Sears warehouse. The problem is that all of these have plastic chutes now, Craftsman, Yardman, MTD, they are all made in the same factory. Not sure what to tell you. I plan to make my own chute when the time comes.
