Ever seen this happen?
Plowed a gravel driveway....got home and my custome called and said I forgot something....he found the 2 pieces laying in his driveway.
Called my dealer and he said he's gonna check to see if the 800 edge will fit, if so he'll take it off of one of his plows, if not he's gonna have to order one. Of course free of cost. It's just gonna cost me 4 hours of driving:eek:
Other than that, this thing can really move some snow. It would move more but these stock tires are junk!!!!:soapbox
Ok so here's a pic
If you're going to end up waiting for an edge you might be able to make a temporary one out of a chunk of mild steel flat stock. If there is a well stocked steel supplier near you they might even have T1 "wear bar" in a size that would work. Mild steel you could get punched, T1 will probably need the holes burned. I tried punching T1 once and the first hole took the end off the punch.

If you were closer I have a Polar Edge you can have.
I have hit a few things HARD and gotten out of the truck thinking for sure something would be broken. This is like a nightmare come true.
Not sure which edge that was but if it comes down to an order get the HD edge.

Greg says it is aleast 1/2" thick. That truly sucks cause I hit mine alot, sometimes harder than I like and it looks like the day I got it.

LOL
I'll measure the thickness of it in the morning.
How much would the T1 steel cost? Any idea?

I'd also be going back to that driveway to find whatever cracked your edge!

My friend had a similiar experience with his new Western earlier this year. He said he didn't know when it happened, it broke off about an 8 inch piece of the passenger side edge, and this was on a new Western plow, during the first storm. It was replaced by the dealer at no cost.

I put a cutting edge on that came off a road grader. That should last a season.

Take a look at it,it may be defective.Look for any porosity or air bubbles in the steel, which would cause it to break. You would have had to hit something pretty good to bust it.
Loose, missing or overtightened bolts can also cause an edge to break easily.

Steel can be over treated and often when this happens its very brittle i would suspect you got a defect piece i havent had this occur but iam also crossing my toes has i say this has the last time i posted to a blizzard thread and said it never happened it did the next push { Hyper Etended wing** there taking care of it so thats whats inportant maybe they could drop ship it to you so you dont have to drive 4hrs to get it , i mean the picture says enough in my book.

My dealer just called, he doesn't have one in stock. He said he's gonna try to have it drop shipped to my door. He's gonna call me on Monday morning and let me know.
I'll check the pieces that I have to see if it looks defective.
Anyone know the price on the T1 steel?:feedback

when i first used my boss v, the cutting edge broke just like that. only one one side of the v. they wouldn't replace it for free either. sucks. hope you get yours for free. i caught some belgium block with mine, but not going very fast. just starting out lifting over a curb. and the blade came bouncing up. and i noticed later there was a big chunk of steel missing.
hasn't happened since. it was just a defective edge i think.
probable what happened to yours.

The only way you're going to get a valid price is to find a supplier who has it and ask them. I haven't bought any in years but even if I had a current price it probably wouldn't be what you would pay from your supplier.

This storm yesterday,I tripped my 810 so hard on a set of railroad tracks i plow over, the edge fell right into the track, that the rearview mirror fell off,and everything went flying in the truck, got out expecting to see the plow dangling or something broken, and not a scratch on the edge and no damage done.
