I have a friend with an 03 Hemi 2500 and he wants an extra battery. It looks like the air filter is where the 2nd battery like on the diesel would go. Just looking to see if anyone has mounted one up before I make something up.

Don't limit yourself to under the hood.A marine battery box mounted on two steel support on the side of the frame will work too.Keeps a little weight off the front end too.

You can get an right side batt tray from your Dodge dealer it bolts right in and it has brackets to relocate your tranny vac lines too

The guy he talked to at the local dealer told him the 03 and up don't offer a dual battery, even the diesel. They were no help..Did the 03 and up gassers offer a dual battery option?
Chris would you move them both to the rear and use heavy cable to go back up the front or just mount the 2nd one under the bed? I can custom make the cable any size I want and can high press lugs on the ends as well.

If you have the capabilites,I would move them both back, and use two group 31 batteries. They are prices about the same as a regular big car battery, and much more reserve capacity. That would be a sweet setup and pull a lot of weight of the front end.

The weight thing has me thinking of doing it to my truck as well now. Do you think it's OK on the outside of the frame rail or should I do it on the inside?
