I recently bought an old state dot 10 ton dump with plow and tailgate spreader. I replaced the main 2 inch central hydalic return line and since then the dump bed hoist goes up jerky and the tailgate spreader works for a short time and shuts down. The plow works fine. I have ran the system and worked all the hydralics but still have this problem. I do see air bubbles in the tank sight glass after i run the system. I can not find a bleeder anywhere. I need help getting the system bled/fixed.
Thanks Joe

Welcome to LetsTalkSnow.com!!:drinkup
If you cycle the hoist a number of times, the air should work itself out. Be sure your oil level is still full after each cycle. Same with the sander. Let it run for a while, the oil should displace the air. Make sure your oil level remains full while you are flushing out the air. From what you describe it sounds like your pump might be drawing air somehow.

If you replaced a 2" hydraulic hose, most likely it was the suction line to the pump, you very well could have a small suction leak from the new hose, make sure its on the fitting straight, and everything is good and tight, and no sharp bends,it also should be a suction rated hose which have a spiral wire built into the hose to prevent them from sucking together,an ordinary rubber hose is not meant for suction use.Your tank should be kept full to at least the height of the return fitting in the tank, often tanks are built so the fluid rentering the tank is above the fluid level causing air bubbles to mix in the oil creating wear to the system, and loss of power, not to mention lots of very annoying noise, any air in the system will make lots of noise in the pump.Another long shot is there may be something in the tank restricting flow to the pump,i've found shipping plugs, apparently some people think just pushing them inside the tank is a good idea, broken off tank strainers, and even a rubber glove, still have no clue how that got into a tank.
