Jerre i am proud of you for not only what you have done for me but for the others building a bullet proof plow has i see the numbers near #20 and 21 coming up it makes me think back to #1 you pour your heart and soul into this buss and i hope you take the concept and run with it no matter who owns Blizzard corp you will always be the master of fab and idea's including the fabled Erie 1 that was evloved from a brain fart i had on my trip back the first time. You are way more to me than a friend more like a brother congrats and plow on buddy.

fred we just bought our first erie special home last night, they are truly great well built plows. this is out first erie special and it will not be our last. jerre is a truly great person and him and the boys at jerres service build bullet proof plows. they go over every detail and even clean the plow up. i plan to pick up a set of danger wings for my 8ft western in the near future from jerre. it is worth the 8hr drive to jerres just because i know it will be done right. we got number #17 and we are damn proud to own it :blizzard

Buying a plow from Jerre is more than just another plow. Your getting piece of mind, and years of Blizzard knowledge, he puts his unequalled experience into every install. So many little details Jerre does, that you would never know to do. I dont think there is anyone who has put more of themselves and there heart into, installed more Blizzard plows,or knows more about the blizzard plows than Jerre.I love the decal Fred! Good work as usual Jerre!:weld

Ill use this thread just got back in from round one with the wrecker. What can i say it all goes back to the hot summer nights in july when i busted my butt til 2 in the morning converting this truck last year people said would never make a good plow truck . [i love a good challenge] .

With its 141 inch wheel base and nothing in the back glass but a stinger i can see behind me like no truck i have ever plowed with. To top it off running the 8611 LP on this truck is probley why am back here able to post the time diff is even better than the 8-10 the truck has more power than a tug boat with its 488's .

Since this whole project is know complete including testing Thanks go out to all my guys in the shop who stuck with me threw the long nights and my very special friend and buddy in Erie PA, for putting the icing on the cake with the install of Erie3 . Jerre plowing all night i would angle the blade all the way to the left looking at that decal on my right wing It makes me almost feel your in the truck with me bud but most important your Truly Special.!!!!

Fred, now you know what I talked about with the 78 High Boy Step side I used to run. That rig was a dream. NEWBIES CLOSE YOURE EYES AND EARS.

400M with C6 from a 429 Super Cobra Jet Mustang, 355 gears with posi Rear and limited slip front, took the bed sides off as they had rotted ( imagine that on a old Ford ), 810 power plow on the front and a 7.6 LDA snowman back blade with wings on it. Turn in the middle of the road from white line to white line and never hang a plow over, Big front window glass, big side windows and big back window. Almost like a cockpit from a plane.

Motor gave up the ghost at 350K and is awating transplant of the 460 I've picked up and the truck needs some fenders and doors but will go back on the road. It gets the blower and will have the blade when needed too.

When you described the rig you were getting I though of that immedately and how nice it was to drive.

Fred, Thanks for the Kudos. I just try to get customers what they want and need. If every one was proactive like you in communicating needs and understanding time tables life would be a dream when the crap / snow hit's the deck.

Francis......got snow???????

Fred your new ride is awsome. I think I said something about it would be one bad ass plow rig with the 4x4 unit in place. Sure am happy it has turned out to be a plowers dream. And to take a line from one of our other fine members here go get em Tiger.

Happy Thanksgiving Fred

Fred,

My F-450 PSD is 4X4 on a 141" wheel based and not sure if the rear is 4:88 or 4:30. It is the L/S option with 4X4. I keep getting a different story, but that truck can haul and push with ease.

With the 6 New Goodyear G124's Load Range G, the rear spring work, and Timbrens front and rear the truck rides and handle great.

As for seeing behind the truck as with truck with a dump body seeing behind you is not happening, but the rear view camera solves that issue. Great view of the Center discharge undertail gate spreader and can see a good 180 directly behind the truck for a few car lenghts.

doesn't that little camera lense get covered with salt spray and snow as you are driving? i know the back of my utillity body is usually caked with wet sticky snow by the time i'm done for the night/day.
i can't imagine being able to use a rear camera for plowing during a storm

The snow does fall off. When it is really wet it will get alittle covered and the salt spray too is bother some at times, but that is easily taken care of with quick wipe while out checking the load or just a strech of the leggs.

The monitor I use fit right over the rear view mirror and has a 6" LCD. Nice clear large picture. During the summer I can back up to a trailer by myself without getting out of the truck. It really comes in handy very often.

As Fred mentioned well worth the time it takse to wipe off and the $450.00 invested.

Great looking truck Fred. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

Ron, any more info on that camera? Brand, dealer, etc? I have a B&W in one truck but would like a smaller monitor for my other 550 and maybe even F800.
