I am trying out an LED supplier http://usaled.com/

For about $125 I am replacing the 7 red 2.5" markers, the 2 2.5" markers, 7 cab lights, and 4 1157 bulbs in the tail light/front turns with LEDs.

They have quite the selection, but their website is a little hokey.

The also have 120volt 1.2watt screw base bulbs for your home.

I ordered last night online and the order shipped today UPS with a tracking number... I will follow up with some installed pictures. This is the cheapest place I found for all the lights.

I am too lazy to do the math, but I would be willing to bet that I save at least 20 amps of power running at night... I am going to replace the plow/turns too, but forgot:scramble

20 amps is ALOT to shave off of consumption. Now I just need to spring for the LED light bar.

Howard,

Check this link out. Not sure if you got a GM or not i didnt check but here is an idea. Allot of guys are changeing everything to LED. I have heard of some going to the extreme to re solder in LED's in there dash board like the climate controll stuff. Too much work for me.

I am looking to do the upgrade menthioned in the link sometime, but i have to finish my HID project first. I want to do my tailight in LED but i think i am going to do a custom setup by soldering the LED's onto a board and hack open a spare set of tailight and glue the board in and seal it all up.

Only thing with LED's is they dont get nearly as hot as Halogen so they snow wont melt off the lamps. So a LED lamp bar will collect snow and ice but its allot brigther then Halogen but also saves you power.

Get some pics when you have completed the install.

Dave.
